Smith Island Cakes - all I can say is "YUMMY". These cakes have a great history and are the State Cake of Maryland. The cake has a great history and economically helps to sustain the islanders on this small island in the Chesapeake. The "cake" was my assignment documenting the lives of the people of Smith Island during a FirstLight Workshop. Watch the video and discover the history of the cake and the ladies who bake them.
